COVID 19 - Virtual Learning

Virtual Learning During COVID-19 Outbreak:

 

 

Parents, Guardians & Students, 

Starting on ________, Catasauqua Area School District Teachers will provide additional guidance and resources to engage students in review, reinforcement, and enrichment activities. These activities will focus on concepts taught earlier in the school year. Furthermore, these activities for these first two weeks (__/  -  /__) will be optional, ungraded, and will not introduce new learning. 

 

Beginning on __________ (@ approximately _____am), all subject area teachers will be providing new material for learning.  Any of these assignments that begin on _________ and beyond are considered mandatory & will be graded towards your marking period _______ grade.  Each subject area teacher will provide students with no more than a total of 30 minutes worth of class work & instruction per day for each subject area.  Students will be allotted the entire week to complete all of that week's assignments.  Teachers will be posting the entire week's worth of assignments on Monday morning around 9am and these assignments will need to be submitted on Friday of that same week.  All teachers will be available upon request to hold video conference calls with students or parents for questions, remediation, etc.  It will be the students responsibility to seek out teacher assistance if they are struggling or confused with any of their assignments.  

 

I will be available for my caseload students (Office Hours) during the following time slots listed below.  In order to request a time slot where I can help you (one-on-one OR possibly a small group), please click on the Google Form Link and complete the form.

1:50 - 2:20pm Everyday  

* If I receive identical office hour requests for help in the same subject area/assignment from multiple students, I will more than likely conduct a small group conference call with those students.    

 

-------- Virtual Learning Policies --------

Attendance Policy:

    • Assignments for the week will be posted by 9:00 AM Monday of each week.
    • In order to maintain flexibility, attendance will be taken based on weekly completion of assignments.  If the due date is Friday and students complete all work by the following Monday, they will be marked present for the week.

Grading Policy:

    • In order to receive grades and credit, students must engage regularly and complete course requirements.
    • 4th Quarter academic performance will be reported pass/fail.

You can easily link your school email acccount to this.  I am open to offering help, check ins, or social time through this outlet too.  This too would be a great resource for connecting with family and friends.
