The Catasauqua Area School District is seeking a Building Substitute to join our team.
Building Substitutes work up to 191 days per school year. These positions involve 7 hours of paid work time daily, plus a 30-minute unpaid lunch break. A valid PA teaching certification is required.
Available Positions:
- Catasauqua Middle School
- Sheckler Elementary School
Role and Responsibilities:
Building Substitutes report to their assigned school every day throughout the school year. They are responsible for following lesson plans and providing support and assistance with the academic, behavioral, emotional, and/or physical needs of our students within regular or special education classroom environments.
Compensation:
$150 per day

Job Opportunity: Elementary School Counselor
Position Overview:
The Catasauqua Area School District is seeking a dedicated School Counselor to provide comprehensive support in career, academic, and social/emotional development. This is a full time, 10-month position, beginning in the 2026-2027 school year. This position reports directly to the Building Principal. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and group counseling for academic, career, and personal/social needs.
- Prepare students for career pathways through exploration and decision-making activities.
- Coordinate with parents, staff, and community agencies to support student development.
- Participate in student support teams (SAP, IST, MTSS) and faculty meetings.
- Manage student transitions, orientation, and class placement.
- Plan, interpret, and report on standardized testing programs.
- Consult on pupil records and maintain communication with all stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Education (School Counseling concentration).
- PA School Counselor Certification.
- Valid Driver's License.

Job Opportunity: School Nurse
Position Overview:
The Catasauqua Area School District is seeking a Certified School Nurse to provide comprehensive health services to our students. This is a full time, 10-month position, beginning in the 2026-2027 school year.
This position reports to the Catasauqua High School Building Principal. We offer competitive salary and excellent health benefits (medical, dental, vision). Key Responsibilities:
- Provide first aid and manage student illness, injury and medications
- Maintain health records and immunization documentation in compliance with PA School Health Law
- Conduct mandatory health screenings for all students
- Administer medications in accordance with state law and district policy
- Coordinate care with parents, guardians, and licensed healthcare providers
- Complete required annual reports to the Pennsylvania Department of Health
- Train faculty and staff in health-related procedures and best practices
- Participate in district wellness and school health initiatives.
Qualifications:
Pennsylvania School Nurse Certification • Professional Nursing License (current and active) • CPR Certification • Valid Pennsylvania Driver's License • Experience managing a school health office preferred.
Required Clearances:
PA Criminal Background Check • PA Child Abuse History Clearance • FBI Fingerprint Clearance.

Sheckler Elementary School 2026-2027 Kindergarten Registration
Kindergarten registration is now open for the 2026-2027 school year. Your child will be eligible to enroll in our Kindergarten program starting in the Fall of 2026 if the following requirements are met.
Requirements to attend Kindergarten at Sheckler:

You must live within the boundaries of the Catasauqua Area School District.

Your child must turn 5 years old before September 1st, 2026 (No Exceptions)
If you meet these requirements and can provide the necessary documentation, your child can start kindergarten next school year.
